Summary

This test method is used to simulate various impact / shock events that occur in manual and mechanical handling of shipping containers in the supply chain. The data is used to evaluate the ability of the container to provide proper protection during these impact events. Also see ISO 2244.

Test Details

This method covers two procedures for conducting impact testing on large, heavy-loaded shipping containers and unit systems.

  • Procedure A: Test to evaluate the impact resistance of a container or shipping unit
  • Procedure B: Test to evaluate the ability of the container to provide adequate protection to the internal contents

  • Large shipping containers
