Uniaxial Tension (Tensile) for FEA

The test is carried out to ISO 37 using either type 1 (preferred) or type 2 test pieces.

Shear (Planar Tension) Testing for FEA

There is no published standard for this test, although the principles are identical to ISO 37. The essential difference to the standard tensile test lies in the geometry of the test piece used, which is a rectangular sheet 100±2mm wide by nominally 150mm long.

Biaxial Testing for FEA

There is no published standard for this test, although the principles are identical to ISO 37. The essential difference to the standard tensile test lies in the geometry of the test piece used.

Uniaxial Compression for FEA

The test is carried out to ISO 7743 (BS 903 Part A4) using either type 1 or type 2 test pieces.
