Lee Sayers

Lee Sayers, Business Development Manager, Environmental Risk Sciences, has over 20 years of experience in designing and conducting aquatic toxicology studies.  Lee specializes in studies for known hormone-type APIs or materials suspected to have endocrine activity and has been involved in the conduct of ~35 Fish Short Term Reproduction Assays (FSTRA) and Amphibian Metamorphosis Assays (AMA). Throughout her tenure at Smithers, Lee has been very active in developing programs to assess biomarker endpoints (e.g. vitellogenin and acetylcholinesterase activity) in various species of fish and birds.

Lee is a GLP study director for chronic, aquatic toxicology studies, including fish full life cycle testing modified to evaluate endocrine activity.  She is well-versed in the challenges of dosing aquatic exposure systems with difficult test substances and had spent several years supporting the development of non-solvent techniques for dosing. Lee received her dual B.A. degree in Biology and Classical Greek from Colgate University.
